On October 23.10.2020 The Union Public Service Commission - UPSC has declaraed the Preliminary result for the Civil Services and Indian Forest Services. 
The exam was held on 4 October 2020 and about 10.58lakh applicants had appeared for the exam even amind the coronavirus pandemic. 
The Civil Services Main Examination will be held from January 8,2021
This is the first time ever when UPSC has released the Result in just 20 days. 

On October 23, 2020 Delhi's Cheif Minister - Arvind Kejriwal laid the foundation stone for a 1,500 bed block, which will be built with ₹450 crore at the Lok Nayak Hospital, Delhi. Infact, 300 more beds will be added to the existing building taking the total number of beds to 3,800. 

Cost per bed for the project is ₹30 lakh, said the CM.

Jammu & Kashmir, Cheif Minister - Mehbooba Mufti in her first Press Confrence after being released from 14 months of detention, said that she won't raise the ricolour until flag of erstwhile j&K state is brought back. 
On which former Union Minister of State (MoS), Jintendra Singh criticised her saying, "Mufti claims to be a mainstream politician but she has reservations in carrying the tricolour." He further went ahead and said that at times Kashmir's so called politicians are more dangerous than identified separatists. 

Raninder Singh, Punjab's CM Amarinder Singh's son has been summoned by the Enforcement Deirectorate on Tuesday, 20.10.2020 in connection with alleged Foreign Exchange Management Act - FEMA voilation. 

Raninder Singh has also been alleged about movement of funds to Switzerland and creation of Jacaranda Trust and subsidiaries in British Virgin Islands for which he has appeared before the ED in 2016.

On Thursday, 23.10.2020. Telangana government estimated that there has been a loss of crops, properties and infrastructure to the extent of around ₹9,400 crore in the state due to the recent floods. 
Loss to crops estimated at ₹8,633 crore. 
The Telangana chief secretary said that he governement has released ₹550 crore for immediate relief to the state. 

On 23.10.2020 The Finance Ministry said that the Center has borrowed and transferred ₹6,000 crore as first tranche to 16 states and two Uts under the special window to meet the GST revenue shortfall.
The interest rate had been fixed at 5.19%

Shakikanta Das, RBI Governer said that there is space for future rate cuts "if the inflation evolves in line with our expectations" He further added "This space needs to be used judicioudly to support recovery in growth & the risk of 2nd COVID-19 wave may impact recovery"
Earlier this month, the Monetary Policy Committee kept the repo rate unchanged at 4% as retail inflation remained above RBI's target range. 

Bharat Biotech and ICMR has developed the corona-virus vaccine named COVAXIN and has received the approval by the Drug Controller General of India - DGI to conduct the third phase of clinical trials. 
The study would cover 28,500 participants aged 18 years and above across 10 states. 
The Serum Institue of Indian began phase 3 clinical trial of Oxford vaccine last month.

The Government of India has said that it is planning to sale upto 15% stake of Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd - RVNL out of 87.84% shareholding through an offer for sale - OFS.
