1. WHO admitted I was right: Trump
Referring to comments on lockdown made by World Health Organization - WHO envoy David Nabarro, US President Trump said that WHO "admitted" that he was right. He alleged that China "dominates" the organisation and added that the lockdownsare causing "tremendous damange" to Democrat-run states. Trump had terminates US' relationship with the WHO in July.
US has registered over 78 lakh COVID-19 cases as on 13.10.2020.
2. 'Adopt Farooq Abdullah' posters put by Hindu Sena on China Embassy Board
In protest of National Confrence chief Farooq Abdullah's remarks on China and Article 370, right-wing organisation Hindu Sena pasted posters that said 'Please Adopt Farooq Abdullah', on Chinese Embassy signboard in Delhi. The posters further said, "Take him (Abdullah) to China."
Farooq Abdullah has in an interview, suggested restoration of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir with 'China's support'.
3. Jio fastest mobile network with 19.3 Mbps average download speed: TRAI
Reliance Jio continues to remian the fastest mobile network with an average download speed of 19.3 Mbps in September, according to TRAI data.
Idea Cellular network (now Vodafone Idea) followed Jio with a download speed of 8.6 Mbps, Vodafone 7.9 Mbps and Bharti Airtel 7.5 Mbps. Though Vodafone and Idea have merged their mobile businesses, TRAI measured their performance separately.
However, we must note Vodafone is reported to have the highest speed in terms of upload.

4. IMF projects India's GDP to contract 10.3% in 2020-21
The International Monetary Fund - IMF has estimated that India's GDP will contract by 10.3% in 2020-21 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In June, the IMF had forecast a 4.5% contraction. However, India is likely to bounce back with an 8.8% growth rate in 2021-2022, compared to 6% estimated in June, the IMF said in its World Economic Outlook report.

5. Congress seeks removal of 14 MP ministers for poll code violation
Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee on Monday 12.10.2020, wrote to the Election Commission seeking removal of 14 ministers from BJP government for allegedly violating the model code of conduct. "These ministers are misusing their positions by announcing false schemes, performing false foundation laying ceremonies," Congress stated. The 14 ministers had earlier resigned from Congress and joined BJP.
6. BJP expels 9 leaders for 6 yrs for contesting against NDA candidates against NDA candidates in Bihar.
BJP expelled its nine leaders for six years for contesting against the NDA candidates in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. These leaders indulged in "anti-party activities" by contesting against NDA candidates "which maligns NDA as well as the party's image", BJP said.
BJP is contesting the Bihar polls in alliance with Bihar CM Nitish Kumar-led Janata Dal (United).

7. MP CM inaugurates 145 newly constructed educational buildings
Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday 13.10.2020 inaugurated 145 newly-constructed educational buildings built at a cost of ₹497.70 crore in various districts through video confrencing. "We opened schools in the state, now our aim is to provide better infrastructure to these schools," he said. The new builduings will now have labs, library and sports complex along with classrooms.
8. SC adjourns hearing on plea seeking extra attempt for UPSC aspirants
Supreme Court has adjourned the hearing on a plea filed by 24 UPSC aspirants, seeking an additional attempt in the civil services exam for 2021.
The court asked Advoctae Atul Agarwal, counsel for petitioners, to serve a copy of the petition to UPSC counsel. Aspirants said their preparation has been disrupted due to COVID-19 and they will become age-barred next year.
9. Railways to operate 196 pairs of festival special trains between Oct 20 - Nov 30, 2020.
Indian Railways announced it will operate 196 pairs of festival special trains between October 20.2020 and November 30.2020.
The fare applicable for these trains will be that applicable for special trains - as per commercial circular no. 30 of 2015, Railways said. The special trains will run for destinations such as Kolkata, Patna, Varanasi, Lucknow among others.
Festival special trains to run only till Nov. 30.2020.
10. Don't need your verification: Maha CM as Guv asks if he's 'turned secular'
Maharasthra Governer Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Monday 12.10.2020 wrote a letter to CM Uddhav Thackeray asking why religious places were shut in the state while places like bars and restraurants were open.
"Have you turned 'secular' yourselves, a term you hated?" asked Koshyari. Revoking lockdown at once won't be good, replied the CM, adding, "My Hindutva doesnt need a verification from you."
